Established in 1901, the Tinley Park Fire Department is administered by the state government of Illinois. The department offers a variety of fire prevention, emergency medical and rescue services. It maintains several specialized equipment, including a brush truck, rescue squad fire engines. The Tinley Park Fire Department provides a range of fire prevention tips and public education programs. The department also conducts fire and life safety surveys for various residential buildings and commercial complexes. With a staff of more than 110 individuals, it operates several fire stations. In addition, the Tinley Park Fire Department offers a fire extinguisher training program.
