Our screening room was originally built in 1985 as part of Plitt Theatres regional offices which occupied the entire floor and the floor above. They moved over from offices in the Chicago Theatre (and, yes, there was a screening room there, up on the 7th floor). Cineplex Odeon Theatres took over shortly thereafter. Then it became Loews Cineplex in mid 1998. Independent ownership took over in mid 2000 renaming it to the present name.
We are Chicago's premiere motion picture screening room for VIP's press screenings, etc. But yes, it's possible to hire our services for your own private special event. However, first some legal mumbo jumbo: Please note that we are a provider of screening services and do not provide films. If you have a movie we can screen it for you however your plans must abide by applicable copyright law. Be aware that buying a movie on DVD or Blu-ray does not convey any right to show the film in any public setting as they are for home use only. A party you might have at our facility for family and friends would probably conform to such use but inviting the general public would not unless you have made arrangements with the copyright holder for a public performance license. We will decline any requests which, in our opinion, might violate copyright law. None of this constitutes legal advice and you should contact an attorney if you have any questions. For inquiries please email us at screenone@SPAMBLOCKfilmteknik.com Edit out SPAMBLOCK of course!
