The Cookie Store and More in Norridge, IL is a seasonal pop-up Christmas cookie store that aims to keep the cherished Chicagoland tradition of Maurice Lenell cookies alive. After the original Maurice Lenell company went bankrupt in 2008, The Cookie Store became the official store for a large baking company based in Ohio, receiving truckloads of cookies for 7 years. However, when the Ohio company put Maurice Lenell up for sale and production ceased, The Cookie Store found a commercial baker to create a 9-cookie assortment reminiscent of the beloved Christmas tins and buckets, offering flavors such as Chocolate Chip, Fudge Brownie, Butterscotch, Almond, English Toffee, and Christmas Sugar Cookies.
Now entering its 13th year in business, The Cookie Store and More is located inside The Cumberland Professional Center and operates from Monday to Saturday. They offer their assortment of cookies in Christmas tins, gift boxes, and bulk boxes, and also provide shipping via UPS for those outside the local area. Despite the absence of the iconic Pinwheel and Jelly Star cookies, customers have been pleasantly surprised by the nostalgic taste and quality of the cookies offered by The Cookie Store, ensuring that the legacy of Maurice Lenell cookies lives on.

Chicago was devastated when our hometown Maurice Lenell cookie company was bought out by a larger corporate company. First all production was closed in Chicago and moved to Ohio in to a facility...

Small store tucked in professional building located in back all the way back in the end corner. Store is like a big closet. Few small tables and a few shelves of product. Not much to choose from...

What a great find! Every holiday of my childhood included Maurice Lenell cookies. It was a sad day when they went out of business. It is great that a local independent is keeping the local cookie...

You can find the Maurice Lenell cookies and other favorites here. My favorites are the Pinwheels and Almond cookies. Grab a few packs if you live far away. They also ship!
