United Methodist Children s Home was founded in 1911, and offers residential treatment, adoptions, transitional living, community-based services, and teen parenting information to the underprivileged children. The center provides various educational and vocational programs to children of ages 12 and 21. The community-based services program is designed to meet individualized family needs to address prevention, intervention and reunification. The organization is staffed by nurses, and funded and certified by the Department of Human Services, and approved by the Council of Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. It also provides various communities child care, and health care services. The organization s other services include child protective services, violence prevention programs, family preservation, and extended family support. It is located in Mount Vernon, Ill.
