Sandip Burman is an internationally touring musician from Durgapur, India. He has been performing professionally for over 30 years and touring almost non-stop all over the world since then, so we are very proud and grateful that he has chosen Chicago as his U.S. base and that he is now accepting students! Very soon after opening for classes in Chicago, branches in the Northern and Western suburbs began due to demand, so now students in Schaumburg and Naperville are being served as well. The World Music Foundation has been directly involved with the management and growth of this school and are likewise involved with Mr. Burman's performance schedule, so the artist's tour schedule and class schedule coexist very smoothly.
Students learn tabla, sitar, voice & harmonium in an authentic Indian classical music setting. Also, many students learn Indian classical rhythm and melody on their own Western instruments such as guitar, violin and trumpet. There are classes for all ages and ability levels: Child to Adult / Beginner to Advanced.
