Rooks Corner
History
Rooks, An American Bistro, was named for the chess chamption nephew of the former owner of Davidson Hotels and Resorts, Chuck Hill. Rooks has an interesting history that has shaped her into the establishment it she is today. Originally named Benjamins and located inside of the University Inn, a quick sandwich or soup was most popular. In 1997, Hyatt purchased the building and made the hotel The Hyatt University Village, naming the restaurant Jaxx's. During the late 90s, Hyatt had about 15 hotels, with four of them having Jaxx's Bistro which specialized in fine/eclectic dinning. In 2004, the building was purchased by Xenia and Davidson Hotels and Resorts was tasked to manage both the hotel and restaurant... and the rest as they say, is history.
