Robert et Fils is a neighborhood darling infused with the elegance of classic French cuisine, the joy of dining like a Parisian and the playfulness of its American chef and owner. An homage to Rob Shaner’s teen years spent in Paris, the quaint destination restaurant in Chicago’s North Center serves rotating prix-fixe menus that explore modern techniques and Japanese ingredients with a deep respect for French gastronomy. Robert et Fils, which translates to “Robert and son,” is named for Chef Shaner’s late father, whose job took the family from the Midwest to France.
