Hub Kitchen, formerly known as River Forest Kitchen, was established in 2014 to support local chefs and food entrepreneurs through shared commercial kitchen services. Following the closure of River Forest Kitchen in January 2024, Dan and Misty Olson revitalized the initiative at a new location, ensuring ongoing support for local culinary businesses.

Having been part of the original kitchen community through their son's business, Spoke Cafe, the Olsons recognized the vital role that such resources play in fostering food entrepreneurship. They are now dedicated to managing and growing Hub Kitchen, creating a thriving environment for culinary innovation in the River Forest community.
