History

The Renaissance Handyman (me!) came in existence for a variety of reasons. First, I hated my former career. After twenty years in sales, I found myself dreading my workday. Burned out and disillusioned, I felt unproductive, and moreover, I felt I wasn't helping people. Second, it was my wife's idea. You see, whenever we would visit her Mom or Sister-in-law, I would inevitably end up making small repairs to this or that and I totally enjoyed it. She made the suggestion I advertise small home repair services, available evenings and weekends, around our neighborhood (Andersonville). I made up signs with tear-off numbers and posted them in our local dry cleaner's window. Within a week, my schedule was booked two weeks out. Third, I'm good at this. My business has grown due to my client's recommendations and my reputation on Angie's List, where, for 7 years running, I've won their Super Service Award. Last, I really like my job and treat my clients like family.
