About Reiki Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Although Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion and the results are not dependent on the receiver's beliefs. The basic concept underlying Reiki is that the body has an energy field that is central to its health and proper functioning, and that this energy travels in certain pathways that can become blocked or weakened. As a Reiki practitioner, Marie has been trained to detect these blockages and to improve the energy flow using her hands, thoughts, and her own energy field.
