History

Portage Park is a unique Chicago neighborhood with a rich history, diverse community, and amazing park just steps away. Portage Grounds Coffee & Tea honors the rich culture of Portage Park in every cup we brew. We intend to create a convenient, welcoming space for the thinker as well as a delicious, reliable cup for the commuter. Portage Grounds is not only a destination for a distinctive cup of coffee, but also a gathering space for other local businesses, book clubs, running/biking clubs, students, study groups, artists, musicians, families, etc. Use our meeting room for sharing your ideas with coworkers and friends, sit by the fire in the winter to dig into your page-turner, or get some sun in our outdoor patio in the warm summer months. It is exciting to see the Portage Park area expanding and it is our hope that Portage Grounds can serve as a gathering place for our growing community.
