Dog Waste Facts and Info- Contrary to popular belief dog poop does not have the same effect on your grass, lawn or plants as cow manure would. Many people are not aware of this fact. Unlike cows that graze on grass all day, dogs eat meat and, due to the enzymes in their digestive tract, dogs' waste is very acidic and toxic for your lawn and plants. It will brown and wilt your landscape and, eventually, over time it will kill your lawn. In addition to the immediate surface layer of your lawn, consider that in most areas of the country the main water source is only 10-15 feet below the surface of our lawn.
