Pilsen Alianza Verde
Pilsen Alianza Verde was a coalition of residents in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood established in 2009 to promote urban greening initiatives, including conservation, wildlife sanctuaries, and community awareness. The organization partnered with local community gardens to foster healthy environments and encourage sustainable practices within the community.
In 2010, Pilsen Alianza Verde organized the inaugural Pilsen Paseo de Jardines, a tour showcasing over 20 gardens that highlighted diverse gardening styles throughout the neighborhood. Although the coalition is no longer active, its legacy continues through the community gardens it supported, such as El Paseo Community Garden and Roots and Rays.
