History

Doyle Johnson called and gave us the opportunity to buy part of his agency in 1977 and move back to Charleston, so we jumped at the chance. In 1985 Doyle retired and we acquired the rest of his business, bringing Brad Johnson in with us. We started the Clarence Miller Insurance agency in a small basement room under Dr. Ramsey's office and progressed from there to various locales until we acquired our existing location on Lincoln Avenue. Penny Dowling joined our team in 1993 with Paul Tomshack and Kelly Thomas coming in 2012. Clarence, Brad, Paul, Penny and I are licensed agents with over 130 years experience collectively. We write auto, m/c, RV, home, renters, rental, farm, commercial, life, health, disability, medicare supplement and long term care insurance. We appreciate all our customers and are honored that you entrust us with your insurance needs.
