HistoryIn 1957, Wilfred and Anna Reeves son James opened a Morris Branch, and this location continues to operate at 408 East Washington Street in Morris. James and his wife Sylvia had three children: Lorna, Elaine and Leo, and raised their family in the Morris funeral home. After the death of James in 1989 and Sylvia in 2000, Leo and his wife Karen continued on with the operations of both the Coal City and Morris funeral homes. Matt Baskerville joined Leo and Karen in 2003, and is privileged to carry on the fourth generation of long time honored tradition, trust and service excellence that has been established over the past century.SpecialtiesFor nearly a century, all of our funeral homes have been committed to the time honored celebration of a person's life and all those who were touched by it. We were the first funeral homes in the area to offer Flameless Cremation, as well as give our families the confidence that they are working with Certified Preplanning Consultants, Certified Crematory Operators, Certified Funeral Celebrants and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. All of us at Reeves and Baskerville Funeral Homes, understand relationships and grief, and we possess the years of experience, skill, and knowledge to help you through the many areas of decision that occur at a time of loss. We can also sensibly guide you at a time of advance planning. Please know that it is our privilege to be of service to families in Grundy, Will and the surrounding counties. Our hometown tradition of service and trusted name can be relied upon today and tomorrow.
