The Orland Historical Society, established in 1976 during the America Bicentennial, is dedicated to appreciating and preserving Orland Park's historical heritage for future generations. Its headquarters, the John Humphrey House Historical Site, serves as a hub for exhibits and information related to the local history of the area.
