Precision Steel Warehouse was founded more than 65 years ago. Precision offers custom processing, ISO 9001:2000 certification, statistical process control, electronic data interchange and bar coding. Products offered include low carbon sheet and strip, coated metals, spring steels, stainless steel and brass and phosphor bronze strip. In 1940, George C. Tinsley founded Precision Steel. In 1978, Precision Brand Products was incorporated as a separate entity owned by Precision Steel. This change was made in order to increase Precision Brand's autonomy so it could respond faster to the changing needs of the industrial distribution market. Precision Brand, under the DuPage Products Group trade name, also markets hose clamps and threaded rod in the automotive, hardware, plumbing, marine and electrical markets. Wesco Financial Corporation, located in Pasadena, Calif., acquired Precision Steel in 1979. Precision Steel Warehouse operates in Franklin Park, Ill., with sales representatives located throughout the United States.
