Northside Learning Center

Located in Chicago, Northside Learning Center is a public school that serves students from 14 to 21 years who have cognitive disabilities. It is a specialized school that offers a curriculum covering the areas of daily living skills, occupational preparation, community-based experiences, fine arts, functional literacy, and health and physical education. The school s academic curriculum includes reading, mathematics, science, social studies, communication and computer applications. In addition, Northside Learning Center offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, choir, drama, band and music. The school also conducts classes in occupational preparation that includes cafeteria training, car washing, occupational training and recycling.
