Northbrook Jr High School

Northbrook Junior High School serves students in grades six through eight. The school has a 9-period day that ends with a 20-minute homeroom period. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, math, science, social studies, as well as foreign languages. The school s foreign language department conducts classes in French and Spanish. Each of its students participates in an elective program, including classes in art, drama, music, industrial arts, technology and home arts. The school also conducts classes in health and physical education for all grades. Northbrook Junior High School participates in a districtwide comprehensive literacy initiative that emphasizes analytical reading and writing skills. In its homeroom period, students work on study skills, complete homework and seek help with their school assignments. Located in Northbrook, Ill., the school is a part of Northbrook School District 28.
