Nature Haven

History

The love for adventure as a young man led me to the phosphate mines in Central Florida where a perilous and violent environment guarded treasures of fossils challenging anyone who dared to collect them. I quit my job and became Indiana Jones. Within a year I had survived an avalanche and had even been stuck in quicksand up to my waist so when my money ran out and I had no food left to eat it dawned on me there was surely a better way! Central Florida was full of tourists eager to spend their money so retailing my fossils and gems was the answer to my salvation. After many many years of retail traveling to various shows the decision was made to return to my roots in Central Illinois and open a brick and mortar store. Northwoods Mall was the first location as a temporary tenant for three months leading into Christmas. After that I opened in Pekin which is when Nature Haven was born. Years later a move to Peoria proved successful and in the Spring of 2010 opened in our present location.
