Founded in 1976, the Cambodian Association of Illinois is a nonprofit, social service organization that serves the economic needs of the residents of Cambodia and America. The organization provides cleaning, counseling and health and personal care services. It also offers opportunities to participate in recreational and social activities and deals in mental issues, such as isolation and depression. It also offers computer training, literacy instruction, job readiness preparation and placement services. The organization s family outreach program organizes educational workshops, health fairs and home visits. The Cambodian Association of Illinois features a library that stocks books, documents, multimedia resources and manuscripts. It is located in Chicago.
