History
While studying photography and anthropology in College, My Photo Preservation's founder Alice took a keen interest in her own family's photo archives. She began the process of transporting troves of photographs from her mother's home in Chicago with her to New York, where Alice scanned, archived, and properly wrapped photos for long term storage. After tacking around 1,200 images of her own family's, it occurred to Alice that other people, perhaps lacking the required time or necessary skills, might want this done for their families. After a stint working for an international stock photography company, O'Keefe started My Photo Preservation.
Specialties
At My Photo Preservation, we work tirelessly to make your digital archive accessible and easily navigable. That's why we work directly with our clients to create keywords specific to your family history. The keywords we formulate from your family timeline are entered into the metadata of each corresponding file in your archive. This way, you can simply search your digital archive for a name, holiday, or year, and every image with those keywords will show up. In addition to searchable digital libraries, My Photo Preservation specializes in digital photo restoration, color correction, film & slide scanning, as well as small object scanning.
