The St. Clair County Historical Society, established in 1905, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of St. Clair County through various educational initiatives, including museums, artifact collections, and historical sites. Their mission is to engage and inspire today's diverse communities by making the county's vibrant history relevant and meaningful for future generations.

The society reaches out to students in grades 6 through 12, encouraging them to explore the area's extensive history, which dates back to 1790, prior to Illinois' statehood in 1818. With a growing membership comprised of citizens from all backgrounds, the St. Clair County Historical Society continues to foster interest and participation in the collective heritage of the region.
