The Gichigamiin Indigenous Nations Museum focuses exclusively on the histories, cultures, traditions, and arts of Indigenous people from the United States and Canada. Its permanent galleries are organized into a regional tour of the United States and Canada, covering the Woodlands, Great Plains, Southwest, Pacific Coast, and Arctic and Subarctic. On the second floor, the museum hosts a rotating selection of temporary exhibits.
