History

Colleen McSweeney Moore, the firm's founding partner, opened the business in 2011, after retiring as a Circuit Court Judge for Cook County. She began the firm by specializing exclusively in criminal defense. In 2013, Colleen's daughter, Kelly, joined the firm as a partner. It was at this time that the firm added Family Law as a specialty. Colleen and Kelly have been working side-by-side since 2013, taking on an array of criminal defense and family law cases. In 2015, the firm moved to a bigger location in Downtown Palos Heights. At the same time, they hired an associate, Kerri Wyman, to join their firm.

Our law firm specializes in Criminal Defense and Family Law. Our founding partner, Colleen McSweeney Moore, has been practicing law for over 30 years. She began her legal career in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where she worked for 11 years. She was elected to the bench as a Full Circuit Court Judge in 1994 where she presided over thousands of criminal cases including traffic, misdemeanors, felonies, and preliminary hearings. She retired from the bench in 2011 when she opened McSweeney Moore Law Offices. Since 2011, Colleen has been the supervising attorney on all criminal defense cases that the firm has handled. Colleen has literally practiced every aspect of criminal law and we believe any client would be hard pressed to find another attorney with her level of experience and expertise.
