History

The Mckinley Fitness Center was orignally the Philppe mansion it was built in 1909 by B.F. Harris for his daughter. This building was the original location for the Champaign County YMCA.

Specialties

McKinley Fitness Center is located in the heart of Champaign, adjacent to West Side Park. We offer cheap rates of $25 a month for adults and $40 a month for couples. Any additional children are $5 a month added onto the adult membership. We offer personal, one-on-one, training for those who would like to become stronger and begin the steps to a better you. There are two separate fitness areas. One for men and one for women. We also have a gymnasium (great for pick up basketball games) After your workout relax and have a free cup of coffee in the members lounge or fishbowl.

They claim that their warm therapy pool is 86 degrees or warmer. It is not. It has never been even 'nearly warm' since I joined. I have heard other members complaining as well. The owner/operator...

I have been going to several of the swim aerobic classes this summer. I have had a wonderful time. Tammy is a delightful instructor who keeps us moving. The pool has never been under 90 degrees....
