The American Nuclear Society is a nonprofit, international, scientific and educational organization. It was established in 1954 at the National Academy of Sciences, Washington, D.C., by a group who recognized the need to unify professional activities within the diverse fields of nuclear science and technology. It assists its members in their efforts to develop and safely apply nuclear science and technology for public benefit through knowledge exchange, professional development and enhanced public understanding. Its membership composes of approximately 10,500 engineers, scientists, administrators and educators representing more than 1600 corporations, educational institutions and government agencies. A board of directors elected by members governs it. In 2004 ANS celebrated its 50 years among its professional divisions, committees, local and student sections and plant branches Its headquarters is in La Grange Park, Ill.

The Health Forum was founded in 1998 through the merger between the American Hospital Association's publishing and data and information subsidiaries. The Health Forum provides communications, information, education and research products to various health care providers, suppliers, payers and consumers. It features an online store that offers a range of data, food service and nursing products. The firm also specializes in facilities and risk management. The Health Forum works in the areas of organizational, market, clinical and medical leaderships. Headquartered in Chicago, it offers various code and billing products. The Health Forum is an affiliate of the American Hospital Association, which is a nonprofit association that provides education for health care leaders.

American Student Dental Association (ASDA) is one of the largest dental student organizations in the United States. The association has approximately 17,000 members and currently represents over 85 percent of dental students from more than fifty-eight dental schools across the country. It maintains two delegates at each dental school chapter to serve as voting members in the ASDA House of Delegates. As a result of resolutions passed by the House of Delegates, the association publishes policy statements on several issues, including dental education, the rights and fair treatment of dental students, dental research, dental student representation and education financing, among others. American Student Dental Association also notifies groups or individuals, such as dental school deans, dental associations, state boards of dentistry and lawmakers, of its position on particular issues.
