Livingston County Detective

The Livingston County Sheriff s Department is a law enforcement agency that promotes public safety, identifies and solves criminal cases and safeguards citizens rights. It operates the county jail that houses pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. The office also serves summons, executes court judgments, conducts criminal investigations, and provides continual training and education to law enforcement personnel. In addition, the Livingston County Sheriff s Department is responsible for providing security for the courthouse and notifying departments and the public of holidays set by the County Board. Located in Pontiac, Ill., it also determines necessity of closing the courthouse in the event of emergencies, such as extreme weather conditions.
