6 S Old State Capitol Plz
Springfield, IL 62701
Place is temp closed. The Lincoln-Herndon Law offices are within the only remaining building in which Abraham Lincoln practiced law. Constructed in 1841, Lincoln maintained offices here from 1843 to about 1852, first with partner Stephen T. Logan and then with partner William H. Herndon. While the third floor law offices are currently closed for restoration, the first floor houses the Springfield Visitors Center. You can also see an interpretation of Lincoln’s third floor office and an 1840’s post office. Located conveniently in downtown Springfield within walking distance of several historic sites. Make sure to check out the Visitor’s Center first for more information on everything Springfield has to offer.
