Limestone Quarry Overlook Site

Visit the Carriage depot to take a 35-minute ride in a horse-drawn carriage while listening to stories from the journals of the men and women who lived in Nauvoo in the 1840s.

Nauvoo, Illinois, was the headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1839 to 1846. Today, visitors enjoy tours and activities in historic homes, shops, and other buildings. A visitors' center offers an exhibit about the city as a "cornerstone of Zion."
