Founded in 1956, LARC is a nonprofit organization that offers working opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities. The organization provides a range of day training programs and work activities. It operates a more than 15,000-square-foot workshop that specializes in skill training and paid employment services. LARC s janitorial services include cleaning of parking lots, stores and office buildings. The organization offers a residential program that provides living arrangements for adults. It hosts many picnics, parties, dances, team outings and ball games. LARC s program department conducts classes for the development of social, life and motor skills. The organization organizes various events and campaigns, including annual appreciation dinners, fundraisers and walking races. It additionally provides 24-hour supervision services and receives funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services and United Ways. LARC is located in Lansing, Ill.
