Lake County Special Education

Special Education District of Lake County is a cooperative educational system working with more than 30 local school districts to serve students with physical, mental and emotional disorders. Its information management systems department provides technology planning, training and ongoing operational support for the campus and its sector programs. Its itinerant programs offer consultation to teachers, direct services to the student and coordination of information among the student, the parents and school personnel. Its transition services program include vocational training, life skills training, personal advocacy training, social and survival skills education and parent education. Its support coordinators provide supervision in the areas of audiology, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, prevocational services, psychology, social work and speech. Special Education District of Lake County is located in Gages, Ill.
