Kane County Juvenile Justice Center

Established in 1831, the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that operates a jail that provides detention facility for pretrial detainees and convicted criminals. The sheriff s office supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. The LaSalle County Sheriff's Office maintains a K-9 unit that handles cases related to drug intervention, tracking, and searches for persons, buildings and evidence. It also operates a communication center that responds to emergency and nonemergency law enforcement, fire and medical assistance calls. The LaSalle County Sheriff's Office is located in Ottawa, Ill.

The Health Department is governed by Grundy County in Illinois. It specializes in the preservation, protection and promotion of health and welfare of citizens. The department operates through environmental health, mental health, nursing, senior programs and administration divisions. It provides substance abuse counseling, elder abuse investigation, medication management, and child and adolescent therapy services. The Health Department accepts Medicare and Medicaid health care plans. It also conducts screening for home-delivered meals, as well as organizes flu shots. In addition, the department administers basic health protection programs related to food sanitation, potable water supplies, private sewage disposal and communicable disease administration.
