AMLI Residential Properties Trust, a real estate investment trust, was formed in February 1994 to continue the multifamily property business conducted by AMLI since 1980. The company is focused on the development, acquisition and management of upscale apartment communities under the AMLI name in the Southeast, Southwest, Midwest and Mountain regions of the United States. AMLI also serves as institutional advisor and asset manager for large pension funds, tax-exempt foundations and other financial institutions with respect to their multifamily investment activities. AMLI employs approximately 850 people and includes 74 stabilized apartment communities containing 27,594 apartment homes and an additional 1,854 apartment homes under development or in lease-up in five locations. AMLI provides property management, institutional advisory and construction services through three affiliated companies: AMLI Management Company, AMLI Institutional Advisors and AMLI Residential Construction. AMLI is structured as an umbrella partnership real estate investment trust (UPREIT). The company is the sole general partner and owns the controlling interest (94%) in AMLI Residential Properties, L.P., through which it owns the communities and conducts its operations.
