The International Buddhism Friendship Association (IBFA) in Chicago, established in 1992, was founded by Vietnamese Chinese devotees who sought a monastery led by monastics. In 2004, after moving to a larger site in South Chinatown, the temple has since expanded its services and community outreach, creating a dedicated environment for the practice and teachings of Buddhism.

Under the guidance of Master JiRu and supported by a team of devoted monks and practitioners, the IBFA also operates a meditation center initiated in 2009, providing a space for meditation and memorial services. The center embodies the compassionate spirit of Buddhism and is dedicated to serving diverse communities, offering supportive services for individuals regardless of race or religion.
