High Mount Schools

Founded in 1880, High Mount School provides educational programs for students in prekindergarten through grade eight. It conducts art, physical education, library skills and music classes. The school offers an accelerated reader program that enhances reading skills of students. It involves students in several extracurricular and academic activities, such as spelling bee competitions, scholar bowl, National Junior Honor Society, student council, chess team, yearbook committee, band and chorus. The school offers a variety of sports activities, including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, softball, soccer, volleyball, and track and field. Its library has a collection of books, newspapers, magazines and other reference materials. High Mount School is located in Swansea, Ill.
