Blackwell Forest Preserve is spread across an area of more than 1,200 acres. The preserve offers various recreational opportunities, such as bicycling, camping, boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife watching. It features horse trailer parking areas, restrooms and latrines. Blackwell Forest Preserve provides canoes, kayaks, rowboats and motorboats on a rental basis. The preserve maintains a lake that spreads across an area of over 60 acres. Its McKee Marsh area features a bird blind and observation decks. Blackwell Forest Preserve is a part of the he Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, which also maintains Big Woods and Fullerton Park.
