History
Giving birth to my daughter was, to put it lightly (!), phenomenal. It's quite difficult to put into words how the experience changed me but the strength I felt in my body, the intense concentration and power I seemed to acquire (which I never knew I had!) and the primal euphoria completely blew my mind! Don't get me wrong, it was hard work and I certainly wasn't smiling at some points but it did change my life and inspired me to become a doula and childbirth educator. Due to my professional background within mental health and psychology (and my BA with a major in Psychology) I am aware of the impact that such major life events as birth can have on a mom and I strive to ensure the women I work with are heard and respected. Pregnant and birthing women are incredible and seeing the journey they take to birth their babies is always truly amazing.
