Fischer Crane Company

HISTORY of FISCHER CRANE Located in the Industrial Corridor of of Bolingbrook IL, Fischer Crane is a multifaceted company specializing in the Sales, Servicing and Installation of Articulating Truck Mounted Cranes featuring the world-renowned range of AMCO VEBA Cranes. Fischer Crane's roots go back to 1976, when Robert W. Fischer Sr. started "Bob's Welding and Maintenance", which specialized in "on site" mechanical and welding repairs for trucks and heavy equipment. Fischer's background includes truck-mounted crane installations, repairs and maintenance dating back to 1973. In 1977, being appointed as Chicagoland's distributor for Pitman knuckleboom cranes prompted a new company name - "Fischer Equipment" thus beginning our illustrious sales career. In 1978 Fischer Crane merged sales and repair business with HAP Midwest - German knuckleboom manufacturer, HAP Krane's central US sales operation. With this merger, HAP Midwest became HAP's first full-service organization in the US, and allowed HAP to expand their knuckleboom imports division. In February of 1981 Fischer Crane took over full ownership of HAP and adopted the name being used today, Fischer Crane Company. In 1983 Fischer Crane broke ground on the current facility, located on 2.5 acres along I-55 in Bolingbrook's industrial corridor. Our Service Department is fully equipped, includes a 7.5-ton overhead crane, and provides complete repairs, maintenance and inspection services for all makes and models of truck-mounted articulating and telescopic cranes. This includes Cleasby Clearfield roof top conveyors, Wallboard loaders, Forestry loaders, Brick & Block loaders, Aerial products, stationary hydraulic cranes and self-loading forklifts.
