Guardian Angel Community Services

Founded in 1897, Guardian Angel Community Services is a social service organization that offers support services for individuals who have suffered abuse, neglect and emotional trauma. It provides before and after school enrichment and camp explore programs for children that includes various fun activities, such as arts, crafts, basketball, soccer, swimming, leadership training, computer skills, fire and home safety training, field trips and team building skills training. It provides day treatment programs at its Dillard Harris Educational Center, such as individualized instructional program, academic skills training, behavior modification and crisis-intervention, and individualized and group counseling. In addition, the organization provides foster care, sexual assault services, family reunion services and parenting classes. Guardian Angel Community Services, located in Joliet, Ill., is a member of the United Way and has been approved by the Council on Accreditation.
