> Mission: Provide recreational, training, competition, and educational opportunities through sport, in particular the sport of speedskating, to foster sound, long-term physical, emotional, and mental development in a broad range of athletes, recreational to elite in all age groups, in the skating sports, throughout Northern Illinois. > Company Overview: Based out of the Center Ice of DuPage Ice Rink, 1N450 Highland Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137, we are dedicated to the development of skaters in both short track and long track speedskating across a wide range of abilities (from the novice beginner through the national team level) and ages (4 to 60+), and, the growth of the sport in DuPage County and Northern Illinois, drawing participants from Kankakee to Gurnee and Rockford to Chicago. We partner with the Park Ridge Speed Skating club for additional training ice and we also train long track speed skating at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, WI. > Goal: Inspiring & helping all skaters achieve & enjoy their dream of speed, power & fun on skates > Member: ASAI - Amateur Skating Association of Illinois USS - US Speedskating

HistoryStarted after the Illinois State Outdoor Championships were first held on Lake Ellyn in January, 1938, the club went on to develop a strong program of novice recruitment and development under the auspices of Bill Lussie and eventually saw a number of its members go on to world and Olympic competition, including: Keith Meyer - 1960 (Long Track) Dorie Boyce - 1984 (Long Track) Shana Sundstrom - 1994 (Short Track) Becky Sundstrom - 1998, 2002 (Long Track) Started with GESS - Mitch Whitmore - 2010 (Long Track) Simon Cho - 2010 (Short Track) Junior World Champion: Becky Sundstrom - 1995 (Long Track - All-round) Numerous World Team, World Cup Team, Youth Olympic Games Team, Junior World Team members; as well as National Champions, National Record Holders, ASAI Skater of the Year winners, and ASAI State Record Holders.
