Founded in 1990, Alterna-Care Home Health Care Agency offers a range of medical and health care services. It conducts a disease management program for people with chronic difficulties, such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, mental illness and osteoarthritis. The agency is certified by Medicare and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health. With a presence in Springfield, Ill., it also maintains locations in Jacksonville and Litchfield, Ill. The agency staffs nurses with specializations in various medical areas, such as mental health and pediatrics.
