Julie Anne Shepherd, MD, is with Springfield Clinic’s Family Medicine Department seeing patients at Springfield Clinic Macomb. She joined Springfield Clinic in 2021. Dr. Shepherd earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford and completed her residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Quincy. “In high school, I really wanted to follow in my parents’ footsteps and become a dentist,” says Dr. Shepherd. “I learned shortly after high school that dentistry was not for me, but I knew I still wanted to do something in health care.” Born and raised in Rushville, Dr. Shepherd enjoys how special it is to provide care in a rural community and get to know her patients outside of the office. Her scope of practice will range from birth to end of life. “I want my patients to know that I am here to work with them to help them reach their health care goals,” says Dr. Shepherd. Madhu Dukkipati, MD, is a part of the Springfield Clinic's Cardiology Department with over 25 years of experience providing cardiovascular care in central Illinois.Dr. Dukkipati earned his medical degree from Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada, India, and completed his residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He also completed a cardiovascular fellowship at the Brooklyn Hospital Center and a interventional cardiology fellowship at Yale University - Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn.Coming from a family of physicians, Dr. Dukkipati always wanted to be a doctor when he was younger. "We all enjoyed taking care of people as a family," he says. "So, I had a natural inclination to become a doctor."Dr. Dukkipati's practice includes interventional cardiology as well as treatment for cardiovascular disease. His focus is on providing that patient-first care. "It is important to me to speak to each patient on their terms and treat them as a whole," he says. "I have a passion for what I do, and their overall well-being is the only thing I care about."In his free time, Dr. Dukkipati enjoys traveling to see his family both in the United States and back home in India. He also enjoys reading.
