Evan Pisick, MD | Medical Oncologist

Ajaz M. Khan, M.D. is a medical oncologist at City of Hope Chicago (formerly Cancer Treatment Centers of America [CTCA]). In his leadership role as Chief of Medical Oncology, Dr. Khan is responsible for guiding protocols, ensuring standard-of-care guidelines are consistently met and exceeded, and helping recruit high-quality physicians to City of Hope. In 2025, he was elected as the President of the Chicago Medical Staff. As an oncology doctor, Dr. Khan primarily focuses on treating patients with breast cancer, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal cancers. "My goal with my patients is to provide education, compassionate care and open lines of communication," says Dr. Khan.

Barbara Buttin, M.D. is a gynecologic oncologist at City of Hope Cancer Center Chicago (formerly Cancer Treatment Centers of America [CTCA]). She is dedicated to caring for patients with gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, vaginal and vulvar. Patient-focused care is an integral part of improving health outcomes, that's why Dr. Buttin centers her treatment on the individualized needs of the whole patient. She treats all gynecologic cancers using numerous therapies, including chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Dr. Buttin also incorporates evidence-informed supportive therapies to help combat cancer-related side effects.

Laura Farrington, D.O. is a medical oncologist at City of Hope Cancer Center Chicago (formerly Cancer Treatment Centers of America [CTCA]), in Zion, Illinois. As a cancer doctor specializing in a wide range of cancer types, Dr. Farrington's goal is to empower her patients by helping them understand their disease and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care. "To me, patient-empowered care means choices," she says. "A physician should not just tell patients what to do, but help them decide which path is best for them." In addition to treating cancer, she also takes care of palliative patients' needs, ensuring that, regardless of diagnosis or outcome, they receive the care they need.
