Founded in 1979, Rail Exchange provides locomotive and freight car parts to the railroad industry. The company manufactures more than 120,000 grab irons and other railcar parts for locomotive and freight car manufacturers, as well as repair shops. It supplies a range of locomotive parts, including cylinder head bolts and hand rails, supports and assemblies. Rail Exchange serves various freight car manufacturers with railcar parts, such as ladders. The company supplies two-, four- and eight-step ladders for tank cars, as well as freight cars. Its ladders feature huck-bolted and riveted bolted assemblies. Rail Exchange additionally supplies a variety of tank car parts that includes eyebolts, placard holders, billing card holders, center and brake pins, follower blocks, sill steps and formed headers. Andee Boiler & Welding Company has been a family owned business serving the midwest for over 70 years. In the beginning, Roy Murphy, my grandfather, a boiler inspector with the city, joined together with Andy Bartoli. Hence the name Andee BoilerOver the years we have served many customers, these include such clients as Chicago Board of Education, Best Foods, Nabisco ( Kraft Foods ), Northwestern University and Tootsie Roll. Although these are some of our larger customers, we are also proud to serve such clients as Sloane Valve, Mercy Hospital, Michael Reese Hospital and many others.Some of the more interesting work we have done over the years, in 1992, when Chicago had "The Big Flood", Andee Boiler field erected seven boilers that had fallen victim to the flood.Also, in the late 1970's we were instrumental in the reconstruction of the German U-505 submarine exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry.
