Founded in 1955, the Ecker Center for Mental Health is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of outpatient mental health services. It serves adults with mental illnesses in Kane County and Barrington and Hanover townships in Illinois. The center offers psychotherapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, case management, psychiatric, residential and therapy services. The Ecker Center for Mental Health also provides 24-hour emergency mental health assessment and assistance services. It additionally offers diagnostic assessment, consultation and prescription services. The center provides a psychiatric emergency program that includes immediate assessment and support for adults who experience depression, suicidal thoughts, family crisis and other emotional problems. The Ecker Center for Mental Health offers living skills training, advocacy, counseling, outreach and community-based programs. It operates several psychiatric residential facilities. The center is accredited by The Joint Commission.
