History

Dream Big began in January 2006 with one class of four students... a small class with big dreams! Nearly eleven years later we have grown to offer over 60 classes in and around the Chicagoland area, serving over 500 students weekly. We currently offer our classes in Andersonville and Lakeview as well as in numerous schools including Bell, Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School, Boone, CICS-Irving Park, Hawthorne, Howe School of Excellence, Montessori Academy of Chicago, Newberry, Peirce, Pritzker, Solomon Schechter, St. Stanislaus-Kostka, Suder Montessori, Wildwood and Willa Cather (Super 7 Girls). We also partner with JCC Apachi Northside, Source 4 Chicago and various other non-profits to fulfill our mission of accommodating ALL students, regardless of financial circumstances.

Specialties

Our drama classes and camps foster creativity, self-expression and teamwork. In our upcoming four-week production camp, students will receive a professional stage experience, culminating in two full-scale performances of Seussical, Jr. on the historic Athenaeum Theatre's main stage! The full-day camp will include music, staging and choreography rehearsals, as well as specialized workshops in character development, scene study, ensemble building and design elements. The performances will include full costumes, sets, lights, props and sound, and ticket sales are open to the public! Our one-week drama camps, hosted over school breaks and all throughout the summer, offer children ages 3-18 a great opportunity to build confidence, foster creative expression and make friends! Before care and after care options are available outside of camp hours. Throughout the school year, Dream Big offers after-school programs, lunchtime programs, curriculum-based drama activities and customized residencies in your child's school as well as neighborhood classes in Andersonville all year long.
