Blazing Star’s mission is to provide a joyful learning community, where children are given the freedom to explore the world. We offer an academic year program, as well as a robust schedule of summer camps and day off camps. Imagine that instead of sitting in a seat all day doing worksheets and taking tests, reading or being read to about the world, your child could have the freedom to actually experience the world every day. Our self-directed learners can choose how and what they want to learn, when and how to move their bodies, and spend more time cultivating meaningful relationships with their peers and teachers than in a conventional school. At Blazing Star, we view children as scientists, artists, explorers, and storytellers.

Located in Chicago, Henry Elementary, Patrick serves students in prekindergarten through sixth grade. The school offers a range of special education programs and services for students with special needs. In addition, Henry Elementary, Patrick offers a range of athletics and bilingual programs. Its facilities include a cafeteria, library, gymnasium and classrooms. The school s academic curriculum includes a variety of subjects, such as math, language arts, social studies, physical education, science, instrumental and vocal music, drama, art, computer literacy and vocational arts. Henry Elementary, Patrick offers a range of after-school clubs and extracurricular activities. The school is a part of Chicago Public Schools.
