Dexter Magnetic Technologies

Dexter Magnetic Technologies is a specialized distributor of electronic components. Dexter supplies soft magnetic products and thermistors throughout North America and Europe, with offices in Chicago, California, New York, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. It distributes powder cores, soft ferrites, tape wound cores and cut cores. The company began in 1951 as the Permag Corporation and in the 1980s it was sold to Dexter Corporation to provide optimal magnetic and electronic technology and services. In 2000 Dexter Magnetic Materials Division was sold to Loctite Corporation. In 2001 Dexter Magnetic Technologies re-emerged as a private company through a financially assisted management buyout. Dexter Magnetic Technologies is in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
