Christopher Stortzum, MD, is with Springfield Clinic’s Family Medicine Department seeing patients at Springfield Clinic Macomb. Dr. Stortzum earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, S.C. He returned to Illinois shortly after his residency where he has been serving the Macomb area since 2005. “Every time I did a rotation, I liked it,” says Dr. Stortzum. “Family medicine allows me to be able to still experience a varied range of medicine while getting to develop long-term relationships with my patients.” Born and raised in the Macomb area, Dr. Stortzum returned because of the strong vibrant community that provides support to him and his family and he is able to return that in the high-quality care he provides.Dr. Stortzum’s practice includes newborn to geriatric care. “My favorite part of my job is my patients,” says Dr. Stortzum. “Getting to be a part of their lives on not only a professional but personal level is so important to me.” In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending his children’s sporting events, traveling and exercising.Top 1% Patient ExperienceThis provider ranks in the top 1% nationally in patient experience, based on scores from the "Care Provider Overall" question on surveys completed with Press Ganey.
